| We were absolutely positive surprised. It was fantastic. We had a fixed course of 6 to 7 dishes including meat and fish and accompanying wines. The portions were very small so that one never felt filled up. Perfect. The taste was delicious. Since our exsperience of Spanish cooking overall is not the best, this was a wonderful exception. We would visit this restaurant again.
One thing to improve: We were the first guests of the evening and so the servicve was too fast: one dish immediately after we had just finished the previous. | | The overall meal was a bit of curates egg, very good , in parts ! The starter was excellent and I really enjoyed my main but my wifes seafood main was overly seasoned. The service left a bit to be desired, the waitress/Maitre D' served a glass of wine and took the bottle away, and while a more junior member of staff reguarly refilled the water glass we had to ask for the wine to be topped up and we did end up feeling that we were being ignored. | | We decided to go to Lieu after reading very positive reviews and seeing gallery on its website. as alternatives we considered a few other already Michelin starred venues in Madrid. The food was good however somewhat short of a Michelin star aspiring venue in our opinion. The restaurant was almost empty (Wednesday. We took set menu with wine pairing and found the wines somewhat average so next time would select wine from the wine menu (which we found good). at the same time the value for money factor is good in our view compared with eg. | ¡Ha sido el mejor descubrimiento del año!
La atención exquisita, tienen una bodega muy amplia y de gran calidad, el sumiller te ayuda según tus gustos y en nuestro caso fue un éxito. En cuanto a la cocina, todo nos encantó, como entrante la mousse de foie y el canelón relleno de ternera no se pueden dejar de probar, servidos a su justa temperatura para disfrutar de su increíble fusión de sabores. Hay que pedir medias raciones por comensal, si no es poca cantidad. En los segundos nosotros nos decantamos por las carnes, la carrillera se deshacía en la boca y junto con el vino, un hacienda monasterio del 2008 (Rivera del Duero) que potenciaba el sabor de la carne, conseguí, como decimos los que disfrutamos de la buena comida, El Bocado Perfecto. Mi acompañante pidió tira de lomo, el sabor es más intenso, es una carne mas dura, pero habían conseguido que quedase tierna. Terminamos con el postre, como no, elegimos chocolate.
